Nieman - Week of 12 Jan


MS Bible / Christian Ed


6th - We're continuing through our look at the Christian life in the book of Acts

7th - Finishing James this week.

8th - We're underway on our Liberian Baseball Project - to help our sister school in Liberia, Africa, develop a PE program with baseball! Should be great!


7th Life Science

Science Fair projects are gong well. The fair is less than a month away - THURSDAY 5 FEB.

Please refer to your calendar for due dates and instructions. Class time is no longer being devoted to work on the S. F. We've begun Ch 8 & 9 - a combined unit on Creation and Evolution.

Please note:
We're taking a field trip to the Institute of Creation Research in Santee on FRIDAY 16 JAN from 10:30 - 3:00. Admission is free.

ASSIGNMENTS:

Mon 12 Jan - In-class work day in preparation for our Creation v Evolution debate on Thursday.

Thurs 15 Jan - Debate in class. Refer to the assignment given in class as to what is due for this assignment:
  1. Paper
  2. 5 note cards
  3. Book to refer to
  4. Following the "rules of debate" - given on Tuesday 13 Jan in class.
Don't forget our field trip on Friday!


8th US History

We're wrapping up our look at the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Assignments:

Monday 12 Jan - Ch 4 Test. Packet (given in class) is ALSO DUE! Use your packet to study the material for the test; refer also to Ch4 and the text of the Constitution in your book.


Tuesday 13 Jan - Adopt-a-State assignment given. This is a complex assignment that will require students to teach the class, using handouts they make and a Power Point presentation.

Details, times, and other specifies will be given later this week.

Student Teaching and all materials will be due in class on Tuesday 20 Jan.
